It may be a bit cliche, but I have spent this past week contemplating the things I am thankful for. Health, family, friends, a roof over my head, and food to eat come to mind immediately. I am also thankful for the profession I have. Photography has enriched my life in so many ways. I get to meet amazing people. I have had clients and competitors that have become my friends. I get to bring joy to peoples lives, tears to their eyes, and occasionally provide a family with images of loved ones they have lost.
I am thankful to my “competition” for forcing me to up my game, play harder, try harder, learn more and get better. The economy has made me look at what we do as photographers, analyze why it is important more than I ever did before.
As I learn my mind expands and the world becomes more beautiful. I have a deep appreciation for the beams of light that stream through my windows, and the shadows that they cast. Thanks to all of you for making this industry and art that we are a part of ever better.
