AR Business Card from James Alliban on Vimeo.
Augmented Reality could be the next big thing in business cards and James Alliban is first on the bandwagon.
(AR) is a field of computer research which deals with the combination of real-world and computer-generated data (virtual reality), where computer graphics objects are blended into real footage in real time. – wikipedia
Ok that’s all fine and good but what is it really in practical non geekspeak. Well, it’s really mother freaking cool that’s what it is!
James created an AR business card that when held in front of a webcam or iSight will display information about himself because as he explains it.
There’s not really enough space on a business card to explain yourself in any detail so I thought I’d extend it…
Think of the possiblities here. A client could use your card to view a slideshow, a video clip, to get your pricing or whatever else you could dream up. Heck they could even use it to navigate your website. Tonight we’ll drink to you James Alliban because your business card ROCKS! Don’t believe me head over to his site print out the graphic that is on his card and see for yourself (webcam required) and tell me if that is not the hottest thing since sliced bread.
