At first glance Flixtime looks like a solid Animoto alternative. (see embedded video by youtube user ktimoshkov)
Not only does Flixtime allow you to upload and use images. You can upload and use video in their generated slideshows as well.
What Can You Upload to Flixtime?
- Video: avi, mpg, flv, wmv and mov files, maximum file size and resolution: 75MB
- Audio: mp3 files, maximum file size and length: 15MB
- Photos: jpeg, gif and png files, maximum file size: 7MB
What Formats Can Your Create a Flixtime Video In?
- You have a choice of MP4, DivX, H.264 and FLV files, all in 640 x 360 resolution, and a smaller MP4 file (320x x 240) for iPods and other portable video players.
I’ve gotta say that they 640 standard TV quality video is going to be what makes this not viable for most professional photographers at this point in time. But otherwise it’s a pretty slick little FREE alternative to Animoto.
See some more sample videos on the Flixtime website and be sure to let us know what you think.

I think the 60 second limit will be a bigger problem than the resolution.
