The Canon BG-E2N Vertical Grip/Battery Holder adds a vertical shutter release, and is compatible with up to two BP-511, 511A, 512, 514 Lithium-ion battery packs, or six AA batteries with included BGM-E2 battery holder. The BG-E2N provides additional shutter release, main dial, AE lock/FE lock and AF point selection controls for easier vertical shooting, as well as a 1/4-20 Size tripod mount thread. The BG-E2N improves upon the BG-E2 grip by adding Water-resistant, and dirt-resistant seals for greater durablility and to match the water resistant capability of the EOS 40D Camera Body. It is also compatible with the Canon EOS 30D SLR.
