The Video Fusion Thing |
The post begins "We've been playing around with the video thing like everyone else."
FX Studios in Kansas turned a senior shoot into a fusion video, blogged it, and the reponse is overwhelming. Take a look at the video, and join other photographers considering the marketing potential of hybrid photography/video presentations.

Anatomy of Customer Service |
It's a long post, but it's a very instructional window on the relationship between photographer and bride from consultation to delivery, warts and all.Ray Prevost details the entire interaction from first meeting, to the late payments, to the "when do I get my proofs" to the "I can't afford it" part at the end. You can even read the emails! See how one photographer deals with the issues that come up in the normal course of doing business.

The Most Popular Thread on the
DWF |
More than a year-and-a-half later, it's still going strong, and with good reason: "Available Magic- Lighting on Location" is an instructional thread about lighting in the DWF PRO Art Forum. It was started by the incredible Bruce H. Dorn in August of 2007, and has had nearly 84,000 pageviews. And members are still contributing incredible work and techniques. See the latest, read the tips, and bask in the glow of location lighting!

Screwing Up On The Job |
You know all of those mean, nasty, photographers who get into pitched battles on the DWF now and again?Truth is they're all soft, fuzzy, teddy bears filled with rainbows and cotton candy. You'll see as DWF PRO members show how vulnerable they are, as they laugh and discuss screwing up. Best: They guy who forgets to take off the lens cap so often, he's made it part of his marketing.

Adult Content: Warning! It's
Funny |
Now Adult Content isn't usually featured in the DWF Newsletter, but this video clip is hilarious. No, really. It's funny.
It's a "documentary" interview with a photographer who makes his nut ..uh.. shooting genetalia for Craig's List hookup ads. You don't see any body parts in the video, but there are some four letter words as he talks about his "art." DWF members are talking about it as they kick back in the DWF Hideout..
