Farewell to a Friend |
It’s
often written that someone “lost” their battle with cancer.
DWF Moderator David Guthrie died this past week, and as
you read all the stories and tributes about a photographer who
was truly loved, you’ll come to see that he won his battle.
To his last breath, cancer never broke his spirit. Jump on
the DWF and please: Read about the clown suit! David would
appreciate that.

Inspiration? We Got That. |
You
see amazing work on the DWF, and we’re fortunate when shooters
like Jaco Fourie from
South Africa post highlights from an awesome wedding - and then
posts a video showing how he
shot a bride studded with LED’s.Then, when you need more inspiration, Chris Boar
posts a completely awesome version of that boring dip shot.

In recent weeks in the business and marketing forums we’re
seeing more and more discussion about using them, profit
structure, printing. They might not be for every photographer,
but do a search on the DWF: Enough of us are talking about
them.

BLOG:
The Definition of Lifestyle Photography |
Trying
to find my muse in the vast expanse of the internet I stumbled
upon someone calling themselves a lifestyle photographer, but
there was nothing “Lifestyle” about what I saw in their
work was. It was posed, formulaic and planned. It had style
but it was not life!
This week we help to define "Lifestyle" photography along
with DWF Portrait Expert Tina Wilson. Also on the DWF
blog this week, photographers give us the scoop on their iPads,
the sexiest cake cutting you've ever seen and how to deal with
difficult brides.
