DWF Convention Wrap-Up
dwfcWe want to express our gratitude to the DWF members, incredible speakers, and sponsors who made DWF Convention 2010 sponsored by Simply Color Lab an amazing success.

Attendees are talking about their experiences, and posting pix with reckless abandon. See countless shots of DWFers in action, and of course, infamous DWF Sloppy Dancing Video, plus read the attendee Report Card. It’s all in the DWF Convention Forum.

DWF Members in Newsweek!
newsweekUsually we’re excited about DWF members featured in bridal magazines. But take about exposure! Photos from two DWF members are on millions of desks in the current edition of Newsweek magazine. Charlotte Geary and Ryan Brenizer have photos featured in a cover story about Conservatives and Gay
Marriage.

How I Doubled My Blog Traffic
x2DWF PRO Member Rob Hooper wanted to drive some blog traffic. His eloquent and timely solution involved all of his 2009 couples and a simple "Photo of the Year" contest. Rob says he knows the traffic will only last a few days but that's ok with him. It was those few hundred extra visitors he was after anyway. Find out exactly how Rob doubled his blog traffic and read other members ideas for driving eyeballs to your blog.

Who Says Learning Isn't Sexy?
dwfuWe're featuring two hot videos this week on DWF U! First up, we've got David Beckstead. Fresh from the DWF Convention sponsored by Simply Color offering up some tips and tricks on none other than his area of expertise, composition. David goes in-depth to talk about more of his stunning images, providing us with a glimpse into his thought processes and ideas.

Then we warm things up a bit, with Critsey Rowe and her boudoir inspiration lesson. Presented just last week at DWFC 2010, Critsey shares some ideas and tips for shooting boudoir! Longer than our normal format, this is 10 solid minutes of sizzling posing and inspiration to help get you warmed up for boudoir!

How Did He DO That?
howOne of our favorite benefits of the DWF is “reverse engineering.” A member sees a cool shot, and asks “how did the photographer DO that!” Often times scores of DWF members will jump in to explain various ways to achieve the same effect.

Here’s an example where a member really, really, wants to know exactly how to process an image to achieve a very cool color effect. Never be afraid to ask. The best thing about the DWF is, you’ll get answers!

Ever Shoot a Funeral?
funeralMany DWF members shoot weddings, but how many of us have been asked to shoot a funeral? How would you do it?

DWF member Milos Horvat was asked to shoot this most unique assignment, and has been kind enough to post some moving images in the DWF Pro Art Forum.

Projection Selling WITHOUT a Studio?
moneyDWF Pro Aly Medina poses an awesome question. She recently attended DWFC, and got fired up about projection selling. There's one small hangup. Aly, just like many other DWF members, doesn't have a studio of her own. The easiest way to leverage the power of the DWF? Simply asking. DWF Pros are chiming in with their strategies for doing it right, doing it inexpensively, and doing it efficiently.

If you've ever wondering how projection selling might impact your business, but haven't jumped in because you don't have a studio of your own this thread is definitely for you!
Boudoir Booth at Bridal Fair
boudoirThere are numerous discussions on the DWF about setting up a Bridal Fair Booth. DWF member Danielle Fletcher decided to create a Boudoir Booth at a her local bridal fair. See the beautiful display she created, read why she did it, and whether it brought her new business? The conversation’s ongoing, and the pix are posted in the DWF Boudoir Forum!
What Do You Pay a 2nd Shooter?
moneyWho doesn’t want to make extra money as a second shooter? And if you’re booked solid, maybe you need a second shooter—but what’s the right rate for a day’s worth of wedding work? Some DWF members have posted the rates they pay second shooters. It’d be great if more members would post about this—we’ll end up with a great idea of “the going rate” around the world. Join the conversation in the Pro Business Forum!

OMG I Just Saw Two Photographer Bumping
