How Was WPPI For You? |
If
you were there, we know you had a great time! The officially
unofficial DWF GTG organized by DWF Pro Kathy Rappaport
was a fantastic event, drawing members from all over. John
Michael Cooper and Dalisa celebrated their new
studio with an open house. Finao's party was
triumphantly shut down as crowds gathered and choked the
hallways and elevators at the MGM. This year provided a
special blend of partying and mayhem!
So what did YOU do? Which parties rocked, and which
left you yawning? Hop online, share your stories, memories and
images in the DWF Home Forum or surf to read about some of the
other awesome experiences!

WPPI Top Honors |
Two
DWF community members received special recognition at this
year's WPPI awards ceremony.
First, Yervant was given the WPPI Lifetime
Achievement Award. As a photographer who has made great
contributions and strides in wedding and portrait photography,
it was an honor to see him receive some of the wonderful
recognition he deserves.
We're also very proud of Susan Stripling, who
received a grand award for a beautiful image in the wedding
photojournalism category.

We're Such a Tease |
We
spent 3 whole days slogging thru the throbbing throngs of
photographers on the WPPI tradeshow floor to find the latest,
greatest and coolest new stuff to showcase on the DWF
photography blog.
Let's just say there was so much cool stuff that are brains
are suffering from full on sensory overload. We couldn't wait
to share some of what we found so we real quick, jumped off
our plane, downloaded some images and set them to music for
you.

signed document that details how the images can be used.
A DWF member requests information, and one of the greatest
boudoir shooters, Robert Alvarado kindly offers his own
model release to DWF members.

On Camera Flash? Don't be Boring! |
This
Pro Art discussion features members showing off their favorite
on-camera flash shots.
You’ll want to “bounce” on over to this thread and see that
on-camera doesn’t have to mean harsh light and a hard shadow.
Grab your speedlight and click on this thread for some
inspiration..

Portraits: What's Your Workflow |
DWF
Blogger Trent Ernst interviews Mr. Marketing himself Seth
Godin for his take on the photography industry. Seth tells us,
"The art isn’t in the taking of the picture. The art is in
what you do the other 21 hours in a day."
Also on the DWF Blog this week: Blogging about Blogging
about Blogging, A Bogus Bridal Fair Scam, Create Your Own
Vision and Photographers on Twitter fall Victim to Phishing

Google Search and Your Site: HELP! |
Want
to get your website climbing toward the top of Google? You’d
be surprised how a few easy tweaks can help you start the
climb to success.
In the DWF Pro Marketing Forum, members share a few
tips that can make a difference, and perhaps more important—
share some web-based resources that will give you mountains of
information about search engine optimization. The best part —
members are sharing information without all the geek-speak.
It’s plain English!

Shooting Same Sex Weddings |
A
long-time DWF Pro has booked his first same sex wedding, and
will soon shoot a female couple.
As he seeks inspiration, he asks other DWF Pro members to
post their shots of similar weddings. In true DWF fashion his
fellow members gladly step up to the plate and share.

Portraits: Maternity Shoot Ideas |
If
you do maternity shoots, this discussion is must-see material.
DWF Pro Portrait Shooters, post images from their
