DWF at WPPI Get Together |
DWF
Members have started planning their latest get together at
WPPI! The banter in the DWF home forum has the event details
and information. It'll be at 9:15 PM on Sunday March 7th,
right after the WPPI / Canon Welcome Reception. The party is
happening in the West Wing Bar and we're expecting a good
number of pros to turn out! For more details and to let people
know you'll be there, click here:

The DWF Events Twitter Feed for WPPI |
For
those who have been sleeping under a rock, the DWF has an
events focused twitter account specifically for letting
DWF Pro members know where other people in the community are.
The account remains dormant most of the year, but will
update periodically as parties and gatherings happen. It's the
best way to keep your finger on the pulse of the community at
an event, and if you're planning on attending WPPI
definitely follow!

The Cheese |
This
time of year the phones go quiet, and client payments are few.
In the dark days of winter, some photographers wonder if
they'll ever book another client.
To help you find inspiration and help stop those night
sweats, DWF Member John Mireles revisits "Who Moved my
Cheese." Click and read this amazing DWF PRO discussion..

Prevail on DWF U |
The
DWF has been featuring a series of lessons prepared by
Shoot Dot Edit's Jared Bauman, featuring a series of
short, helpful tips on business and marketing.
We've also got more of the ever popular David Beckstead
sharing his ideas and inspiration on some of his fantastic
compositions. DWF U will be taking a short break the week of
WPPI (while we film more great lessons for you!) and then
resuming full schedule shortly there-after.

Texture, Is It Over Yet? |
For
a while there, it seemed like every photographer in the world
was using texture overlays. Are textures here to stay as an
enduring tool, or are they merely last year's exciting fad?
Get some insight from fellow DWF Pros about what's working
in their businesses..

DWF Talks with Marketing Guru Seth Godin |
DWF
Blogger Trent Ernst interviews Mr. Marketing himself Seth
Godin for his take on the photography industry. Seth tells us,
"The art isn’t in the taking of the picture. The art is in
what you do the other 21 hours in a day."

Portraits: The Not Beautiful People |
Your
clients aren't 100% supermodels. Sometimes you find
yourself shooting someone who isn't all that, but also has
little self-esteem. How do you handle them and bring out their
best?
One DWF Pro talks about an even more difficult senior
session: The family was making fun of the girl right through
the shoot.

Getting That Crisp Look |
This
discussion is different. While it's the same old question "How
do I achieve this look?" This DWF Pro is trying to achieve a
sharp, clean, unprocessed look.
Now, you'd think the answer is "if you don't want a
processed look, don't process!" But that ain't it. Read on..
