DWF Convention 09 Seminars! |
|
We’ve
already told you about Denis Reggie, Kevin Kubota,
Keynoter David A. Williams, and AltF. Now
we’re proud to announce the following seminars for DWF
Convention 2009:
The Power of Light: Tony Corbell
Tony will discuss and demonstrate all types of lighting and
its tools in depth. Lighting tools include portable flash,
studio strobes, sunlight and ambient light. Lighting
applications include additive, subtractive, reflective and
transmission.
Boudoir is Back: The Boudoir Divas
Join the Boudoir Divas as they discuss how to capture edgy
boudoir images by using easy lighting set-ups and flattering
posing. They will show you how to reach potential clients
in your market area, and how to get started in implementing
this service that is fast becoming a very lucrative niche in
the industry.
Dynamic Album Design: Christa Hoffarth
Back by popular demand from ’08! Christa will give you the
inside scoop on how she creates her one of-a-kind look books
for her clients. There will be plenty of nail biting
quick-n-easy tips to creating truly unique albums.
Build your Business with Facebook: Chris Meyer
You’ll get a crash course on constructing a Facebook profile
along with the basic functions of the site. Once the
fundamentals are completed, Chris will present insights of
how to use multiple facets of Facebook to enhance your
business.
Wireless Flash Tips and Tricks: Mike Fulton
Learn simple – fast – effective methods of capturing images
using wireless flash without all techno-geeky talk. Straight
forward technique developed for the fast paced, action world
of wedding photography that can also be used in many other
situations.
The Business of Wedding Photography: Rosalind Van Tuyl
Learn the basic framework of developing marketing strategy
so that you learn how to think and analyze your business
like a savvy marketer. Once you understand the big picture,
we will look at specific places to gather data and some
basic analysis you can do to understand how your business is
doing relative to your marketing plan. You will understand
how to not only set meaningful marketing goals for your
business, but also how to use hard data to analyze and
correct your business plan as you go.
The Power of Storytelling and Wedding Day Photography:
Storey Wilkins
Telling a great wedding story with photographs that feel
natural and thoughtful, yet professional and powerful is
visual communication at its best. Documenting your client’s
thoughts and feelings as their wedding day races by is a
skill. Translating that into a wonderful family history
book is an art.
Show Big, Sell Big: Justine Ungaro
Learn how to price your products to be profitable, find the
right kinds of clients, collect money before you've taken a
single photograph and how to use projection to help guide
your clients to spend more money on larger prints. This is
all about helping your clients to purchase what they want
without the hard sell.

Mindy's Top Ten |
|
A
couple of weeks ago, Mindy Sonshine posted a “Top Ten
Ways to Make More Money” list and it got a great response
from DWF members. Last week, she started taking the list
apart task by task and talked about how she’d achieve each
goal. Mindy and other members offer great examples. It’s
easier to reach a goal when you’re part of a group, so how
about you?
